For the 2006-07 academic year (fall 2006, spring 2007, and summer 2007) you must file the 2006-07 FAFSA. Income information for 2005 will be required.

You can file the FAFSA electronically using FAFSA on the Web (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov). FAFSA on the Web includes online help and instructions, along with internal edits that help prevent errors when filing the form. The application can also be saved online. Most institutions prefer students to complete the FAFSA on the Web. A FAFSA on the Web Pre-application Worksheet for 2006-07 will be available at www.fafsa.ed.gov/worksheet.htm in December 2005.

FAFSA on the Web filing is made easier if students and parents obtain a Personal Identification Number (PIN) from the Department of Education, which can be used as an "electronic signature." Students and parents may obtain a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. Students and parents may still file the FAFSA on the Web without a PIN, but must print and mail a paper signature page to the federal processor. Students are advised to print the FAFSA on the Web Submission Confirmation page as proof of completion.

Paper FAFSA forms, in addition to Internet access to complete the FAFSA on the Web, are available at most high schools, public libraries, Indiana college and university financial aid offices, and Learning Centers.
